Carol Hawkins

Carol was born and raised in Havre de Grace, MD. She is the fifth of seven siblings.

Carol's natural ability to sing was inherited from her father, the late Elder Percy Hawkins; he loved to sing and so does Carol! No matter the situation, you can always find Carol singing or humming a tune!

Carol attended public schools in Harford County Maryland, and graduated from Havre de Grace High school. For many years, she was affiliated with the Gospel Tabernacle Apostolic Faith church in Havre de Grace, under the leadership of the late Bishop C.H. Johnson, and then, Bishop Harry T. Lee. She was part of the youth choir and received her early vocal training from the late Evangelist Phyllis Fickens Bassey.

Carol has lived abroad, traveling with her sister to Germany, where she lived for two years.

Although she enjoys singing, Carol's other ministry is the ministry of helping and serving others. Her love for serving others earned her the coveted Servant of the Year award for 2005 within the Music & Fine Arts Ministry at Victory Life Christian Center (VLCC) in Upper Marlboro, MD, where she currently worships under the guidance of Senior Pastor, Marcellous A. Buckner.

At VLCC, Carol is an active member of the Praise Team, Mass choir, Singles Ministry (president), Share Ministry, and assists with the annual Career Day committee.

Carol has been with EKKLESIA since the beginning. She is single and currently makes her home in the Maryland suburbs of Washington, D.C.
